The Planning staff is responsible for determining immediate and long-term land use patterns through administration of the zoning ordinance and the Comprehensive Plan, which provides the overall growth management framework to guide and shape the community's development. Additionally, the staff provides technical services and advice to property owners and developers relating to minor additions, fences, driveways, setbacks, uses allowed, sign allowances, flood zones, the City's three historic districts, variances, conditional use permits, or steps needed to start a business - we are here to help.

The Building Codes staff works with property owners and contractors on a day-to-day basis to ensure that minimum construction, building, electrical, and repair standards are met for all existing and proposed structures throughout the community. Their responsibilities include conducting scheduled construction inspections such as footers, framing, rough-in, final, general building safety and compliance to permit conditions.

Whether you are changing the use of a building, adding a deck-pool-bathroom addition, installing a shed or building an entire new building - we are here to help.

The Code Enforcement staff works with citizens and property owners on a day-to-day basis to ensure that minimum Property Maintenance Standards are met for all existing structures throughout the community. Their responsibilities include conducting inspections of rental properties, as well as monitoring such issues as junk cars, weeds and accumulation of trash & debris.  Whether you need assistance with the maintenance of your property or are concerned with the maintenance of your neighbor's property - we are here to help.
